Primary School
Kimpton School, which was opened in 1966, is situated in open countryside between the villages of Kimpton, Thruxton and Fyfield. The boys and girls aged between 4 and 11 years, come from these three villages and from Andover and other villages outside of the school’s catchment area. It is part of the Diocese of Winchester and is maintained by Hampshire’s Children’s Services.
Our children are able to enjoy the extensive school grounds, including a creative play area for the youngest pupils, a tarmac playground, a terrace with seating and soft planting, a swimming pool and a play trail designed to suit all ages. In addition we have some ancient woodlands which are a valuable teaching resource equipped with a story telling chair and seating, adding an extra dimension to the curriculum. All of this looks out over spectacular views and offers peace and tranquillity.
Our building has undergone several modifications over the years and comprises of seven teaching areas, a well stocked library and ICT suite where all the computers are networked. All the classrooms have interactive whiteboards which are used extensively.
We offer a broad and balanced curriculum which includes a modern foreign language and there are a large number of clubs open for the children to join, including a breakfast club. The quality of education is excellent and inclusive and we pride ourselves in treating every child as an individual. We aim to support and challenge every child regardless of their needs and offer a wide range of opportunities. Children keen on music and sport are offered the chance to work with professionals visiting the school each week.
Kimpton is a happy, caring school where children thrive and parents work in partnership with the school. Visitors are warmly welcomed by agreement with the school office.
