Thruxton Parish Council.  Meets in Thruxton War Memorial Hall every first Wednesday of each month except January and August. There are seven members of the Parish Council.  The Annual Parish Assembly is held in May and representatives from local organisations are invited to give a report. All Parishioners are welcome to attend all meetings. The Parish Council is responsible for the maintenance of street lighting and for reporting on necessary road works, fallen trees across public highways, clearance of footpaths and fly tipping; first tier advice on planning matters
The Parish Council pays for the printing of The Thruxton Times which is delivered by volunteers throughout the civil Parish area
   

Allotments; Rented from The Diocese of Winchester and managed by Thruxton Allotments Association

 

 

Burial grounds and closed churchyards; Thruxton Parish Council is not a burial authority

 

 

Community centres and village halls; Thruxton War Memorial Hall is owned and maintained by a separate body of Trustees

 

 

Parks, playing fields and recreational facilities: The Parish Council holds the Sports Field on a lease from Mr Henry Pelham at a peppercorn rent in perpetuity, and has granted a conditional licence to the Three Villages Sports Trust who provide FA League Football matches and also football training for young people from Thruxton, Kimpton, Fyfield and Weyhill.  There is a modest childrens’ play area on the Sports Field managed by the Parish Council.

 

 

Seating, litter bins, clocks, memorials and lighting: There are three memorial benches on the Village Green. The Parish Council is responsible for the maintenance of street lighting and for reporting failures to empty litter bins located at public places, of which there are four

 

 

Bus shelters: The Parish Council owns and maintains the two bus shelters in the village

 

 

Markets: The ancient Manorial right to hold a market on 30th June has not been exercised for many years

 

 

Public conveniences: There are none in the parish

 

 

Agency agreements: The Parish Council has no agency agreements
