THRUXTON COMMUNITY CLUB
The Thruxton Community Club is now in its third year. Its aim is to provide a forum for villagers of all ages to meet for a social gathering. It is open to all villagers, together with those who use the Hall for one of its activities.
The Club has no membership as such, constitution or membership fees but meets in the Village Hall about three times a year either for a Lunch or Tea with an informal speaker to talk about local matters. We have had a talk by Ann McKenzie on "The Village Street of 100 years ago" and more recently by the Hampshire Air Ambulance stationed on Thruxton airfield. For our 2017 Christmas tea, the local handbell ringers gave us a concert in which we all joined.
The Spring meeting will take the form of a "Fish 'n Chip" lunch on Wednesday 18th April when we hope to have a talk by our local PCSO on policing in our area and hints and tips to make our lives safer.
Full details can be obtained from Bob Hodges (773354) or John Davis (772711). Please let one of us know if you would like to be placed on our telephone list to be advised of each event.
